Fundraising to combat COVID19

Dear colleagues

Dear friends,

After a series of actions, exchange of messages and synchronization with the various services of the Ministry of Health, the office of the Minister of Health and the international firm of chartered accountants Deloitte:

  1. 10,000 masks-shields were purchased for medical staff equipment - urgent need! 28.000 Euro.
  2. Final stage of purchase and delivery (on Monday 1.6.2020) of an ultrasound scanner for IPPOKRATEIO Hospital – emergencies – for the diagnosis of immediate pulmonary problems directly related to COVID19 16.800 Euro.
  3. Our Association purchased and donated, in memory of our colleagues who left us, 1000 masks - shields to the Federation of the Deaf. The invoice has already been paid by the Association's Fund. 2.968 Euro.

Last week, 3 members of the Association and three new friends deposited 640 euros. The members of the Association deposited additional amounts again. The total amount raised is 53.680 Euro. 8.880 Euro remain unsettled.

I would like to point out that the purchase movements were made following suggestions and audits by both the office of the Minister of Health and the firm of chartered accountants DeLoitte. Due to the abundance of donations, there is a recording and prioritization of needs, which are indicated to those interested.

I know that at this time of year you are all busy with holiday preparations, exam stress for your family members, etc. Do you think we should leave further fundraising open until September, in order to purchase educational materials as Mr. Pyrros from the EKAB is asking us to? Educational materials about which I had informed you in a previous note.

The two lists of names list all those who contributed to the collection of the money. No amounts are mentioned, but there is a detailed record in case you want confirmation of your deposit.

Thank you to all my colleagues and the agencies that participated. We proved that we can do it if we want to.

I thank all colleagues who repeated the deposit of money in order to reach the final amount.
